At the beginning of April, Octavio's mother visited our director in Nicaragua, Maycól Garcia, at his home. When she left, Maycól wrote to us to say, "We can't say no." Octavio has leukemia as well as compromised motor and speech skills, the result of brain damage. His mother asked us for help in order to transport him three times a week to Managua for chemotherapy. Managua is an hour on the bus from their home in Granada. After a short period in which we covered these expenses, two of our gracious supporters asked to sponsor Octavio.
