Our Vice-president, Michael Garcia, with the children from Pantanal. Pantanal is a barrio of Granada. It has 11,000 residents, 7,000 of whom are children. They receive water three days a week...often unclean water. This is where our next school will be completed for Education Plus Nicaragua...very soon (and it will have clean, city water 24/7 for our kids). We are so fortunate to have Michael "on the ground" to oversee our work and to have Monica Lovely as the director of Education Plus Nicaragua. Collaboration makes great things happen.
We are so grateful to Moderator Mena O'Brien, principal Richard Hart, and the student council of St. John the Beloved School. They just presented Neighbors to Nicaragua with $600 that they raised for our children in Nicaragua. Thank you! You have kicked off our campaign to build our third school for children who desperately need this chance. We will make this happen!

In Nicaragua, 80% of the population lives on less than $2.00 a day. Consequently, families take children out of school to earn money for survival. Our centers are working: our students are gearing up to finish high school and go to the university while introducing children and parents to hope through education. Thank you for helping us make a difference!

This is the future of Nicaragua. Our goal is to have Mateo in our center in Granada very soon and to see him flourish under the program you make possible. Thank you!
This is only part of the reason why Neighbors to Nicaragua works. The other, more important part, is you. It doesn't happen without you, and we are so grateful for all you do. Join us at http://www.neighborstonicaragua.com

Our next goal: to buy this piece of land in one of the poorest barrios of the city ($3,500), Pantanal, so that we can then build a school for Education Plus Nicaragua who currently holds classes in the carport of a home there. We will do it! Thanks for helping us! http://www.neighborsto nicaragua.com
One of our newest students in Ometepe. Thank you for your support.
Last week we caught one of our students at Centro Juan Pablo II in an unguarded moment during the change of class.
